Can i round the edge of a 1x4 with this

I know it's cheap but I'm just asking. If so what size/kind of bit would I use? It's for a shelf. Thanks http://t.harborfreight.com/14-in-trim-router-61626.html

Even a sander can make that small a radius.

Concur with joe. That is something I would just do with my random orbital sander. Ron

You can certainly ease an edge with a sander.....

,,, Golly, I wonder why they even make roundover bits.... when you could sand them down....

So, how much can that little trim router actually do? (I have a Ridgid trim router and am curious). Can it cut rabbets into a board?

Rock.... Honest talk...... it's pretty krappy..... I have one (second one) and 5-6 other routers.

That's probably the limit of it's capacity, small roundovers/edge work, minimal cut, laminate trim.

It is small and light, and for small edge work, and depending if it might have a 1/4 roundover in it for a pine board, I'll grab it.....

plus it's kinda like the fourth of July watching all the sparks come out of the motor....

Best

I figured that much. I was just curious. I've only used it to trim laminate for countertops and it will bog if you go to fast there. Thanks for the input.

As trim router, the base may not have a hole big enough even for quarter round bit. I think my Portercable does, but that's about it. Not worth the money for your purposes.
Using round over bit is the result is absolutely uniform and esp if you want a bullnose edge. Plane first then hand sanding may be enough for a small touch ups.

For just a few straight boards, I use a radius plane.
