Built-In Shelving

Is there a good place online where you can buy shelves that are similar to the nice thick shelving that you see when you look at houses that have the built-in shelving?

Built-in shelves that come with houses always seem to look alot nicer than the ones you see at target, or Lowes.

Is there special places to buy these? Or is there a different name for them?

Thanks

Did you use the stock shelves they have? or did you custom order them?

I took a full sheet of MDF and cut it myself. and added the arbrite on top.

Here's a thread I started awhile back regarding a problem I encountered when building mine - folks then asked about the construction, so I added several pictures and info. Maybe it can provide you some ideas.

What is MDF and what is arbrite?

In all likelihood the shelves you see are just standard 3/4 inch material with a front edge applied that extends somewhat below the bottom of the shelf to give it the appearance of being thicker. That is normally how it's done.
