Built in shelves
I posted this in drywall area, but it may fit better here.
we're adding built in shelves/entertainment center in our basement. 9 compartments total, with 3 rows and 3 columns, will go pretty much from floor to ceiling, 9' ceiling. Middle compartment will house my tv. Eventually it will be mounted, but for a while we'll just use the stand and set it on the shelf. Here is my question: can I use 3/4" plywood for the the shelf bottoms and cover with drywall for a smooth look or should I just use finish grade plywood for the shelves without drywall, and paint them same color as walls with latex paint? And if I use wooden shelves alone what do you use to get that smooth finish between the drywall and the shelf? |

Built in shelves
build your shelf out of wood. To get a clean finish in all of the areas where the shelf and the wall come together you should use your skills.
