Build Separate Cabinet for Microwave

Hi,
I am new and this is my firt post for a rental property. Tenant moved out and enlarged existing kitchen. Was able to keep existing cabinets (purchased 3 yrs ago) and told contractor to install dishwasher. Long story short, after rearranging cabinets ended up with an empty space above one base cabinet next to a wall. Can not find the existing cabinets anywhere and thought about installing a shelf or make a cabinet for a microwave oven. It would go between a wall on left and cabinet on right. It looks funny to leave an empty space above a base cabinet. Just finished installing new floor, etc and do not want to go buy new cabinets when I only need one. Any help or suggestions are very much appreciated.

No pictures?
Is there power in that empty space.
Is there going to be room for ventalation of the micro wave?
How about just installing a set of doors.

There's a lot you can do there. Any kind of shelving unit will work for plates, spices. Or a Norman Rockwell picture, or a calendar. Do you need a space for a microwave? You will have to run a circuit if that is the case. My wife's a decorator....trust me there are a million things you can do with that space.

Your right, do not need to put a microwave in a rental. I am going to try a few more places for cabinets but I can't help think it will look funny without a wall cabinet. Although it is a rental it is a big house and just want the kitchen to look right. One other thing I thought of was a wrought iron wine rack (less the wine)

Thanks for the advice and I will let you know how it turns out.
