Best way to trim out for vanity

How are you supposed to do baseboards for these types of vanities? I installed a smaller one in front of the baseboards and I couldn't get the sink flush with the wall- used a granite backsplash to cover the gap.

Is the best way to notch out the baseboards after installing them to get the legs flush with the wall? Baseboards will be 1x6 with cap molding.

Thanks.

fit the vanity in place first without hooking it up, mark the inside position of the legs then pull it away measure the length of the baseboard peices then actually install the vanity. once in place then install the rest of the baseboard by butting into the legs
