Best way to cut thick caulk?

Looks like I will be removing the new replacement windows that a hack installed for me last year. This was the worst job I have ever seen, this guy claims to have been doing carpentry for 40 years! I would not be surprised if I find that the only thing holding the windows in is the caulk. Anyway, my question is: What is the easiest way to cut caulk, remember this is about 4" thick. I know I will run a sawsall to cut any screws that he may have put in by accident. TIA

Maybe I should have said deep? They are replacement windows and he filled the sides, top and bottom with caulk.

You will find that a large Painters tool is going to be handy.

Sharpen it up like a chisel and keep it handy.---Mike---

It probably hasn't even dried yet.

Painters tool & snap-off utility knife.

Are you sure this isn't spray foam insulation? 4" deep of caulk? This would get really expensive.

The window should be around 3 1/2" thick. Why would you think the caulk is 4". Did you see him with dozens of cases of caulk or is this an assumption on your part that's how he filled the gaps?
Post some photos of a few windows.
