Bench Dog router table

I just bought a Bench Dog 40-123 Pro plate to fit into an old used Bench Dog cabinet. It is predrilled for my new Triton Plunge Router. So I don't have to drill the template. However, it does not have a hole for the table winder hand which raises and lowers the height of the router. That was disappointing. So if I want to use it, I have to drill the hole for the handle. The 40-123 came with no markings or any idea of the material it's made out of. I want to drill the hole but I'm not sure about how to go about it. Does anyone have experience with this 40-123 plate?
Thanks

Try the Woodworking tab at the top of the page. More likely to get an answer there.

asking for everyone idea is good before you do anything for a safe reason. Ask for a carpenter for a safe purposes.
