Check your inbox. The drawings assume a 3/4" subtread so you will need to adjust accordingly or install subtreads.

With those dimensions it is impossible to fit it in to meet any code requirements, is there room to put a landing and a second set of stairs going in a different direction.

Mike,

That's the design based on the info provided. In order to design a code complaint stair one has to know the size of the stair hole and the finish to finish rise as well as the lower finished floor to finished ceiling height.

Keith, thank you for helping me, my stair hole is 3foot 3 inches wide by 4 foot seven inches long, the finish basement concrete floor to finish top floor is 7 foot 4 inches, and from the basement floor to finish ceiling ( floor joists) is 6 foot 6 inches. I can take pictures if helpfull thanks again. i will look at my email from you now. Mike Also, from the start of the stair opening to the exterior wall is only 8 foot.

Mike,
Send a pic.

This has to be an old house, I've never seen a stair hole that is only 57" long. If a stair was there at one time it had to be very shallow and very steep.

A stair hole that is 57" long and a floor to ceiling height of 78" cannot be made code compliant. Minimum head room measured at the nosing has to be at least 80" and yours is 78" standing on the floor. As such there is no room for a landing, winder etc. The only stair that comes to mind would be a circular stair and that would not work for your needs. I.E. moving a washer etc. up and down.

Yes the house is pretty old, I will send pics once I figure out how thanks Mike
