I'm replacing old ceramic baseboards by new MDF baseboard that is taller. What should I put where the baseboard meet the door moulding? I got a rectangular piece at a big box store but i'm not sure I like it. I think a square piece would look nicer. However the doormoulding is 3 1/4 wide and the space with the floor is 4 inches high. The space is not square. What are my options to fill this space? I'd prefer not to have to redo the door mouldings.
either you have to replace the casing or find some bigger plinth blocks. if you have a table saw or access to one along with a router you can make your own. they should be about 1/2" taller than hte baseboard and 1/4" wider than the casing to create a 1/8" reveal on each edge of the casing
