Baseboard corners help

I just moved into a home that has gaps at the corners where the baseboard moldings should meet. Can I just caulk the gap? Any certain caulk I should use?

You can use whats called "painters caulk" to fill in any minor gaps at joints or between the baseboard and the wall. Its just smooth caulk with no silicone and can be touched up with paint if needed.

Is the baseboard painted? If it is painted, by any chance is it white?
For painted baseboard use a White LATEX caulk.

If it's stained wood baseboard, use a stainable wood putty or one that is pre-colored that will match the stain.

Thanks for the advice! I bought all purpose caulk, but didn't think this would work as well. And it is white baseboards.
