Barn board planks

What type of fastener should I use to attach my finished 1"x12" pine barn board to my studs?

For reference im basically replicating this wall paneling: http://i.imgur.com/LDXS9uT.jpg

I'd use a 7d ring shank siding nail. I hope you're planning on sheetrock between the studs and them boards.

kwick is right (of course :)) Without the sheetrock first you may as well leave the window open.
I'd change the outlet boxes to the adjustable style so they can still be flush with the finished wall.

Thanks, yes I put up sheetrock with a dark paint.

And behind that 3.5 inches of Foamular with the gaps sprayed and taped in the stud wall and behind the stud wall another 2 inches of Foamular with no thermal break also taped and sprayed at the joints.

Didn't know about those kind of boxes but the electricians said they wouldn't mind using longer screws. Good to know about them though. Thanks!

If there going to use longer screws there also going to have to use box extenders.
Whole lot easy to just use the right box.

Even though the drywall is all up and finished?

If the rocks already up then use box extenders.

trim screws would be another option for putting the 1x material on the wall...

@hand drive - thanks, I will keep that in mind.
