Ball Catch Striker Plate
Just installed pre-hung 48" interior french doors with pre-installed ball catches on top of both doors. Included are 2 striker plates. My question is, do the plates just get screwed to the top (underside of the header), or do they have to be indented inside of the wood itself. My friend seems to think he needs wood chisels and chip out the header wood for the striker plate to be indented inside of it so it's flush.
Thanks for any help
They need to be installed and "indented" into the wood, at the top of the door frame, in order to be flush.
