B&D Cordless Drill
The battery on my 12V Firestorm drill is about shot. Before buying a new 12V battery, I was wondering if it will accept an 18V battery. The base on both appear to be the same.

its very unlikely.. the only cross compatibility with cordless tools these days are some models will accept the same voltage in both nicad and lithium ion

It doesn't work. I have the 12v and a coworker has the 18v.

Trying to overpower an electric motor, whether with battery or real juice, has to end badly. And if you happen to think you can hold it while you try?

I guess low voltage tools will not hurt you? Plastic might feel a bit hot in a 12v tool stuffed with an 18v thing?
