Attempt Repair Or Replace Door Molding

Have a 25 year old house and the molding around the doors, bedroom, bath, etc are beat up from moving furniture in and out over the years. Lots of dings and such.

The current molding as it's 25 years old I have not been able to find an exact match but found one that is close enough.

Better to replace it or attempt to fix the dings with wood filler and such. If fixing are there any tips and such?

Thanks

A whole lot faster and it will look better to just replace it.
Post a picture.

It might look close enough from one room to the next, but when the new meets the old it will probably look cheap. And the old will look even worse. As Joe said, faster and better looking to change it all.
