attaching 2X4's to garage floor

I'm building some utility shelves in my garage, and my plan includes securing several 2X4's to my garage floor. What are my options for securing them? I tried a powder-actuated nailing gun, and that just put a fat chip in the floor. Would a masonry bit and screws be my next bet? Other choices? Thanks.

attaching 2X4's to garage floor

I have put in 2X4s on my basement concrete using a hammer drill, and Tapcon screws.

I found that these really worked well.

I have used these as well as tapcons and as well as a ramshot. They all have worked for me but I do like these in the photo the best but that depends on what I am doing. You drill a hole with a hammer drill and tap these into the hole. ASs you tighting the nut and washer agaist the 2x4 it spreads and tightens up.

Good advice on attaching the 2x to the concrete but I must ask WHY? Unless this is an island type cabinet I see no reason to attach to floor.

the 2X4's are 2 ft long, 3 attached to floor, the upright shelf supports are attached to the 2X4's.

maybe it's tall and he's really going to load it up...worried about tipping? I try to make everything moveable in my garage.. but one could certainly tie into a wall or ceiling much easier with the same result. I even put non load bearing partition walls in the basement w/ construction adhesive on the bottom plate and nail to the ceiling... unless you drove into it with a truck (in which case youd have bigger problems) it isnt going to move.

i am also using the wall as support. the ceiling is about 10-11 feet tall, and i didn't want that much height, otherwise i probably would have used the ceiling.
