Aquiring a liscense?

I have been trying to find out where to acquire a carpenters license in new york state, specifically long island for a few months now. Could anyone tell me what the prerequisites are and where to go?

You can do a search over at Contractor Talk regarding your question, or just plain post the question over there if you are in the trades.

There is a forum dedicated to Contractor Licensing information there.

You get a contractors license at Consumer Affairs in the county of your choice. In Nassau it's in Mineola. Try the phone book for the address.
They will let you know the requirements. From what I've seen, all you need is a pulse and a check.
