Default Adding storage to window seat

Hello. Can someone tell me whether it is possible to add storage to an existing window seat? We recently bought a home that has a window seat. I would love to be able to modify it so that the space inside could be used for storage. I have seen window seats that open on top, have drawers, cabinets, etc. Can someone give me some guidance on whether we can modify our existing window seat to provide some storage?

Easiest way to determine interior space would be to remove the top. Look inside to see the options you have as it was not made with the storage option. The framing might be hard to work around.
Worst case is you remove it and build to suit.

I could tell you if you were to pop the top off as Ron suggested and post a picture of the bones of the seat.

I don't mean to sound sarcastic, it is the only real way of helping you.
