Adding a shelf

I would like to add a shelf above my mini fridge, not sure how to go about securing it so it is sturdy. I have attached a pic of where I would like to put it. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Michelle

Adding a shelf

Just install 1 X 4 cleats on the two sides and across the back that get screwed to the studs.
Cut yourself a piece of 3/4" plywood for the shelve and attach another 1 X 4 across the front of it with wood glue and finish nails to keep it from sagging.
