4x4 wooden support post

I have a 4x4 wooden support post in my basement that has rotted through at the bottom. I want to replace it with another 4x4 "wooden" post, not a metal pole. How do I attached the new wooden post on the pad on the floor. The old one is currently sitting on a brick which is embedded into the pad.
Thank you for any help.

Get as post support from Home Depot or such. Be sure to get some teco nails to use with it and something to anchor it to the concrete, like some Tapcon screws.

I have used wedge anchors in situations like yours in the past. Go to www.wedge-type-anchor.com for information about your application. The tapcons that Bob talks about will also work so this is just another option.
