Question

45 deg angles on the 1 side of a 1xX

is there a trick to making perfect 45 deg angles on the 1 side of a 1xX with just a circ saw and a carpenter triangle (for the baseboard corner joints) ?

i know how to do it with 2xX lumber because it will stand solid on the 2 side but don't know how to do it with 1-by lumber.

Not really. It will never be perfect using a regular circular saw. Like you said, it is easier with 2 x wood. The reason being the board has more meat on it to help keep the blade from floating. Miter saw is still the best way.
You could build a jig box with guides for both sides of your saw to keep it from floating.

You lay it flat on the cutting surface and set the saw at 45 Degrees. I'd use a bevel guage to see if the angle is indeed 45. If not, you can adjust the angleon the saw before you cut.
