1/2" diameter hole in hollow core door

How would you repair a 1/2" hole in a hollow core door?

Does this hole happen to coincide with the end of a hinge pin style door stop? If you look at HD in the aisle where they have the felt cushions for table legs, they usually have some small white plastic glides meant for chair legs, about 1" in diameter. You could glue one of these on to cover the hole and let the hinge pin stop have something to bear on.

So for the time being I filled the hole with some expanding foam.

Now a little spackling

Looks like it is working so far. Lets see what happens when I sand it out and try to paint it.
