Outlook send/receive error 0x800CCC0F

error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
Outlook was fine yesterday, but today I get this when I "send/recieve". send task seems to complete successfully, but outbox is normally empty. It errors on the receive task. About 1 time in 8, the tasks will complete successfully. Internet explorer seems to be fine. Rebooted, turned off my antivirus, ---- no effect. I don't see any relavent errors in Event Viewer. This happened once before, and after a couple of days it worked fine again. I did a google search on this error --- its common enough, but I did not find useful solution. One suggested solution was "increase your time-out setting" , but I don't know how to do that.
I am running windows 7, outlook 2010, 64 bit computer.
Any suggestions ?

Outlook send/receive error 0x800CCC0F

So I Googled "Outlook 2010 time out settings", and found instructions.
Increased my time-out settings, and now everything seems good.

You should forget 'Outlook' and switch over to Windows Live Mail.

What I have done is used my google email to check my pop emails. Also with the smtp info for the pop emails you can send emails from google. So think of gmail as outlook or thunderbird but is in the cloud.
