Troy Bilt/MTD ztr hydrostatic motors
I got a buy i could not pass up on a little used Troy Bilt Mustang 50 inch ZTR. It's a 2007 with 160 hours and garage kept for $800.
Now I see that the drive motors are sealed units that cost many $$$$$. I have no problems yet with the motors but am wondering if I should sell this while I am ahead?
for future reference. Is there any cheap source for the motors? Work around on unsealing and repairing motors. Anybody that rebuilds them. I have searched the web and found nothing except adding fluid through the breather tube.
Thanks in advance JIm
Just use it and forget about it.
Most likly you will never have to mess with them.
That said, there is no such thing as a cheap source for replacement hydrostats. If/when they go, the cost of dealing with that problem will be higher than the value of the mower.
If it were my mower, I'd drive it till it drops.
