sears garden tractor


a friend has a sears lawn tractor several years old with a briggs and stratton single cyl engine. he has had to replace the coil several times because of no start weak or no spark.Is there any typical problem causing this?

In my experiences the coil persay rarely went bad. In older engines it was usually the points and condenser needed replacing. For newer engines, electronic ignitions can go bad.
