Craftsman tiller oil fill points

I noticed that my Craftsman tiller has 2 oil fill points and 2 oil drain points. One is in the front of the engine and one is in the back of the engine (this one is hard to get to). Doesn't filling the oil in the front fill the entire engine?

Yes. Small engines like that can be used in numerous applications, so some of them, like yours, have two drains and two fills, in order to be accessible for varying uses.
