Have you tried starting it with engine starter spray?
(remove the air cleaner to try that)

If that gets it to start but it won't stay running---make sure that there isn't a gas shutoff in the fuel line---then plan on cleaning the float bowl of the carborator--

Look for a thread by Danger Mouse on this very subject---Mike---

are you sure? do you know how to hold the plug outside the motor to check?

if really no spark...
does the other end of that wire attach to a coil?
do you know what OTHER things might be on that circuit?
(eg: a kill switch)

Your carb is dirty. Your main jet is probably plugged - something that happens very easily.

You did check to see that the belt is on all the pulleys that drive the blade and it's not broken, right?
Can only be about 3 differant things, bad PTO switch, disconnect the wiring where ever the conector is between the switch and the clutch and use an OHM meter to check for continuty.
Check all the wires to see if one got chafed between the switch and the clutch.
