Who tuck points a chimney

Should I call a roofer or mason. Do masons do the flashing as well. I had a mason look at the chimney, he said to pick out what was loose and redo the space between the bricks. Acro something 60, something about a milky white bonding agent. The red flag was the mason was telling me the wrong way to flash a chimney. The next red flag was the price was way to low.

Who do you think? Your last sentence clues you in that they know more then a roofer. As for what you are stating a Red flag for the price too low. How much are you looking at spending on this job?

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

masons usually install flashing - you just happened to call 1 who isn't well-versed in repair methods,,, nowadays roll alum is often used - find a guy who knows lead & how to use it,,, 'acryl' is probably what he meant - its an additive to mortar

oftentimes a good roofer will also possess the necessary knowledge & skills

Chimney sweeps do repairs, they are equipped to work on roofs which a lot of masons are not, and if they are worth a damn, they know how to flash as well.
