wet basement

I have small cracks in my basement brick wall and I need to seal those and also what is the best soil or gravel to use when I make a slope on the outside of the house for water to drain?

If the cracks are in the brick itself, you can use a colored epoxy. This can be purchased from hardware stores or mason supply stores. It is not recommended to put gravel around the outside of your house, however. Use regular topsoil and pack it tight with a slope away from the house.
