Under water concrete

Going to put a tanning ledge in my pool. Going to be 8' by 8' by 5". There will be standing water, approx 5" on it all the time. My question is will concrete work and if so, will I need to put a sealant on it?

8 feet x 8 feet x 5 inches? I'm having a hard time envisioning your ledge. Could you post a sketch or drawing? There's a lot of experts and engineers that visit this site frequently, I'm sure they can help you out.

I understand what you are speaking of now. I have no clue your, skill level, experience , or anything for that matter when it comes to construction. I am all about helping out people with accomplishing their projects. This one however I would leave to the professionals without hesitation. Good luck !
