tuck pointing a block foundation

i found some large'ish gaps in my block wall. looks as though all of the mortar in some places is gone, i can see all the way through. but i cannot, yet, get to the inside. and PO's did a lame fix.

what do i use to fill this in, and easiest/best way to get it deep into the cracks ?

You know the drill, got a picture?
Grind or chisle out any loose morter and use a morter bag to apply new morter.
Depending on how bad it is you may want to concider just rebuilding the whole thing.

i just bought a new drill. does that count ? D:

i can't do a pic = i am on a backup computer right now.

rebuilding is not an option, nor needed.

are there different types of mortar ? those bags, any tips for using them ? i have never done either.

repair is done. yes, there are different mortars. i used "repair mortar". and put it in a mortar bag. easy enough. now, lets see how long it lasts.
