Travertine Sink Top Trouble :(
I bought a one-piece slab travertine sink with a slit drain. Beautiful, modern sink top, but they said I had to seal it. So, I went to Lowe's and explained. They gave me a product and I used it. I realized after I had used it that is said NOT to use it on unsealed stone. UGH! It was more like a polish, not a sealer. What do I know? So I do some research and go back and ask for a stripper (to take off the two coats of polish that I had already put on) and a sealer. I stripped it the best I could. Waited a couple days to be safe, and now I'm sealing it with a water based sealer. I don't know if it's supposed to soak in, but some of it is sitting on top, as if the polish wasn't completely stripped off. It's not beading or anything, but I don't know what it's supposed to look like. HELP, please? :( Anyone?
Any possibility of a picture--or a better description of the top---shiny polish or honed?(Mat finish)
Did the top return to its original look after you removed the 'polish'?
