Thin Brick Question
A military friend indicated he installed thin brick a few houses ago and instead of using the traditional lath with a scratch coat he used some sort of panels that had "fingers" that held the bricks in place. He indicated each thin brick had approximately six fingers holding it in place and that the trick was installing the panels correctly but once that was done all one had to accomplish was placing the bricks in place and then applying mortar between the joints. Does anyone know what this system is? Thank you.

That would be the Glen-Gery Dept. of Defense thin brick system.

I want to ensure the serious and true answer exists for those looking at installing thin brick. Located the information, or one manufacturer of a system at the following link:
http://www.tabswallsystems.com/ Another system is located at the following link, but one should note that if you use that system you must also purchase only their bricks: http://www.redlandbrick.com/thinbrick.asp This company also requires a minimum order and it proves extremely expensive. |
