stone veneers falling off foundation

Quite a few of the stone veneers on my 4 y.o. home fell off. This happened in the front of the house after I bought the home and the builder reapplied them. Now one has just fallen down again, and a couple of weeks ago, a few of them fell off the side porch foundation, too. Should I give up on this stone veneer and put something else there and what would you suggest?

Sounds like mexicans installed it. They usually butter the entire back of the stone which is wrong. That causes it to pop off with little resistance. You need to use type S mortar which is the strongest to re-install the stones. Or use high strength masonry adhesive. Clean all the old, loose mortar out of the void before putting the stone back in.

The problem has more than likely nothing to do with the origin or race of the individuals who installed it, but has more to do with the poured walls. Almost every failure of adhered stone on poured walls is due to remaining form release left behind before installation of the stone.............
