Steel lintel sizing for block wall cutout

Building an outdoor kitchen with some access doors into the island. The doors will require me to build a cutout and there will be a course or two of block on top of the door cutout. Hoping to use flat steel for the lintel, any ideas on size? 8x8x16 blocks. Will 1/4" be good enough? Thanks!
