Scoring stained concrete

We are debating on wether or not to score the floor before staining on a new construction. My question is, if we decide not to score and move forward with the staining, can we score it after it has already been stained, sealed, and finished?

If you do it before you stain it, the stain will get in the crack, and the whole thing will be sealed. Afterwards, it won't. I think it'd look better if you scored it first.

Scoring stained concrete

Scoring after is far more likely to scratch the surface as well.......

Scoring stained concrete

yes, of course you can ' score ' after staining,,, even good acid stain's don't usually penetrate usually more than 1/16"-1/8",,, scoring reveals conc's color so you' get a tile effect,,, you can easily score w/1/4" dia blade on 4" grinder - its dusty work ! not sure what else you could use to score as finished conc's fairly hard

we cut prior to sealing,,, solvent-bas'd sealers are MUCH better'n wtr-bas'd,,, don't bother w/anything you find @ apron/vest stores other'n dust masks, brooms, etc - IF you must, try sher-wms - @ least their stuff doesn't suck as much
