So my neighbor has his contractor build a retaining wall on the property line, was to be 5 feet tall, but he only had it built 3 feet. The new wall is butted up to an existing 6 foot cinderblock wall. That wall is plumb. The new one is leaning away from my property I have one an elevated property. They are going to finish it to 5 feet, but I am concerned that if there is 5/16" in 24" inches above my slab it will be out over a 1/2" at 5 feet. Also, there is a 3/4 inch gap between my driveway edge and the wall, what can I use to fill that gap?
Most every segmental retaining wall has "batter" built into the system, and most lean back into the surcharge at about 1.5" for every foot of height. Other than asthetic issues, I don't see a problem with it. As for the 3/4" gap, just wait until they're finished, as they'll likely fill the gap themselves, as it's relatively imperative to the future success of the wall.
