Removing a/c unit from brick wall
I am removing an old a/c wall unit and need to fill the space with replacement brick. I can figure out how to repair the inside wall but first, I need to find a brick that matches and secondly need to learn how to do the brick work. What mortar do I use? What prep needs to be done? Do I work from the outside in? Is a vapor barrier needed? Any advice would be great.

Far better on this one to hire a mason to do the brick work. There going to be able to a far better looking job. There going to have to cut out every other brick so it can be woven in so the repair will not show as bad.
Yes there's a vaper barrier needed, most often it's tar paper.

The first thing I would do is find matching brick somewhere inconspicuous on your house, IE; around the side or back. Then remove the brick and use it to fill in the hole and fill in the hole where you took the brick from with close to matching.

Don't skimp on the mortar. Or do!
