making a lid out of concrete how do you place rebar in conrete

I assume when you say a "lid" you are talking something fairly thin (couple inches max) .. Is that a fair assumption?
Are you using the rebar mesh?

If I'm right so far ... They make little plastic pyramids which keep the rebar mesh suspended in the midst of the frame as you pour the concrete. Normally sold in bags. They are referred to as "chairs" cos the rebar sits on them.

Thank you both, yes it's like 3" thick, it's for septic tank lids.
