quikrete and davis color

We are coloring some quikrete, 4000 psi. Using Davis color who recommends a certain ratio of color to cement (based on 94 lbs cement). To apply to quikrete, I have to know how much cement is in quikrete 4000 psi concrete. Not published info. Does anyone know or think they know or offer a good guess? Much appreciated.

An 80# bag is .66 cuft, so 28/.66=42.42 bags of concrete mix per yard. A 4000 psi mix design would be 6-1/2 sacks of portland per yard. What is the color loading?

Thanks. Davis specs for Sandstone color are .75 pounds per 94 pounds of cement. So, I am trying to determine loading (amount of sandstone color) per 60 pound bag of quikrete 4000 psi? thanks.

whatever amt of color you use, when trying to match existing color, always start lighter,,, you can always add more pigment but trying to get pigment OUT of a mix is impossible,,, remember colored sealers often save your ***,,, we always have the client approve color because every set of eyes is different - even on the side of 1 nose ea eye ' sees' a different color

altho some colors are market'd as non-fading, all things fade when exposed to uv,,, it may be imperceptible ea yr but they do,,, IF its an arch/eng spec, they only want specs follow'd,,, h/o's are MUCH different,,, don't ask me how i know this - i just know

.49 CuFt per bag then. 28/.49=57.14 bags per yard, 6.5/57.14= .11 (CuFt, which 1 CuFt = 94#s of Portland cement) per bag. So, .11x.75=.08 # of color per bag. Figure your batch size as 3-60# bags at a time and you get 1/4# color per batch.
