I am building a paver patio project in my backyard. Today I put the class II base rock (3/4 minus) on top of the excavated and graded soil. Then I compacted it with a vibrating compactor plate. Soon I realize that those 3/4" gravels tend to conglomerate together away from the "minus" dusts.
As seen from this picture, it shows that the bigger size gravels tend to stay together and so does the stone dust. How do you distribute the stone and the dust evenly?
So for my current compacted sub-base, what should I do? should I put some concrete sand on top of the gravel area and compact it again? Or it's really no big deal and I should just ignore this and move on? thanks!
