new Driveway blacktop

I have 2 estimates for blacktopping my driveway. one with a 2" binder and a 1 1/2" type 7 top? The other only has a 2 1/2" type 6 top? which is better and why?

Ayuh,.... The binder, 'n top is Better,...

The large aggregate in the binder provides the strength, 'n the fine stone in the top, Looks good...

The type 6 has larger stones than the top, 'n smaller than the binder, so is a compromise, in both fit, strength, 'n finish....

The type 6 single lift driveway, oughta be a 20 year driveway,...

The binder, 'n top driveway, oughta be a 30 year driveway....
