Need help to repair slate wall cap

Our gravel driveway has a stone retaining wall which is capped with 1/2" thick rectangular pieces of slate (not sure if it's real slate). The slate overhangs the wall by about an inch. At any rate, someone drove over the edge of the wall and broke the slate. I realize that an ultimate fix is to replace the entire piece of slate, but I want to try repairing it in the meantime.

I've attached two pics of the slate on the wall, and a pic of the edge of one of the broken pieces.

I happen to have some Dap Ready-Mixed Concrete Patch, and some DryLok Fast Plug Hydraulic Cement. Can I use one of those, or something else, to re-cement the pieces to the top of the wall? And should I glue the edges of the pieces to the edge of the remaining piece of slate, and with what? Thanks.

When you're ready to replace the piece... do that.
In the meantime find a way to ignore it.

You have absolutely nothing to lose by trying to repair it, go for it and if it doesn't work, you'll feel better for having tried.
