I tell you what I would do. I would pull that base board on the wall near the floor. Next I would just start screwing screws into the wall, when one of the screws starts to sink into the wall you have a stud. If the screw just floats along on the surface you have missed the stud. After you have located the studs mark where they are and replace the base board, thus hiding all damaged wall surface. If you do find that there are no studs then use toggle bolts. You will have to drill a hole in the wall then thread the bolts through the tv bracket and push the butterfly part of the bolt through the wall, tighten until snug. Helps to have a flat bit for your drill.
