WEEEELLLL, I considered the lathe and scratch coat but was told by some possibly misinformed people that sticking em to cement board with a scratch coat was a more professional method.
SHould have done more research online before starting. But live and learn- i hope I have learned well.
So i replaced the last 3 feet to the ceiling with lathe and scratch as for some reason the lower part of the scratch on cement board bonded tightly enough that to remove it was damaging CB.
As of today I have just touched the ceiling with most of my stones and should be done in two days depending on interruptions.
I will attempt to post a pic of the completed job as soon as then.
