I just had stone veneer added to my brick home as accents. There was no grout bags used to grout between stones. What is between the stones is mortar used to attach stones to bricks. Some of the mortar is loose and coming out of the joints. Looks like mortar is too sandy to me. What is best way to fix this?
I dont know how to post a photo. I am able to text or email. The stones are rectangle and square in shape, 6x8, 4x4, 2x6 etc. They have 1/2 to 1 inch space between them. They range from 1 to 1 3/4 thick. The mortar is recessed around the stones. In some places I can see the brick underneath. The mortar will wash out when sprayed with garden hose in some places. I just need to know the best fix so I can make sure my stone man is doing the proper job.
Will they have to remove all mortar that is still there?
