Inground concrete pool repair

We have an OLD inground pool in the house we recently purchased. It holds water but the tiling around the top is mostly gone and the concrete is chipping. Looks like crap. We were thinking of just not using tile - since we live up north and the thaw freeze thing ruins the tilework. We want to just put cement up to the lip. nothing fancy so hoping to do it ourselves... We have chipped away all of the "lose" rocks. we are getting ready to pressure wash it next. Do we need to acid wash it?? what do we need to do to get the new cement to stick to the old cement? http://http://www.facebook.com/#!/ph...type=3&theater

You should consider have your pull checked for structural defect. If you have stress cracks which over time caused concrete deterioration, you can patch that 100 times and you will end up with the same outcome as you have now.
