Help me prepare this concrete for patching...

I am needing to patch this dip in the concrete to prepare it for vinyl tile. Do I need to remove this floor paint prior to patching? What is the best way to do so if necessary?

Grind off the paint and prep the surface.

Plug the hole. Poor leveling compound and allow for full cure.

Stuff wasn't as easy to work with as I had hoped. Was really hard to get it very smooth.

if you used true self-leveling mtl, you found out it isn't,,, it still needs 'hands-on' work,,, we would've used fast setting cement instead

I used some quickrete vinyl patching compound... had to sand it to get it even close to smooth.
