Help identifying retaining wall blocks

Hello. I have a decent sized run of retaining wall blocks (275+caps), which were poorly installed at our new house. I am wanting to re-do them correctly, but am not sure about what make they are and I will need to buy more to finish the project correctly.

My best guess is, an Allan Block, but they are the shape of the allan block jumbo, and the size of the allan block jumbo junior (7 5/8"D x 7 5/8"W x 6"H)

If anyone has any ideas I appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi Driz, There must be thousands of different different styles of block around the world. Your most sure bet would be to take it to your closest block supplier.

Ok thanks. Unfortunatly they are 11 years old, so hopefully they don't change often, or they are a block supplier historian.

Drizzt -

They look like the older (developed in 1988) Allan Block units because of the raise shear lip on the front. The exact units may not be available since they have been improved to agree with 3 other internationally licensed products developed in the U.S. that carry DOT and other code approvals.

Many of the common low volume units made by local producers are "knock-offs" with minor dimension differences and not qualify for most standard municipal or state work, but could be adequate for small residential applications.

That makes sense, as I've had a tough time identifying these blocks. I did leave a message with AB too, so they might be able to confirm (there is an AB processing plant near my city). But if that's the case, I may run into some problems finding supplies to finish the project off.

Those are Allen Block Juniors.

Thanks. I contacted AB and they confirmed that too. It looks like they have changed their forms though, so I am awaiting a response as to if you can mix old + new juniors together.
