Hel fitting rotary airer into concrete/paving slabs

My daughter has bought a rotary airer. She has two options, one to fit it between paving slabs which would involve cutting the corner off a slab or the other side of her house has stone chips and layer of plastic sheeting under it and then concrete under that. She would prefer the option of fitting it on the stone chips. How difficult is this going to be and what tools are needed? Any help greatly appreciated.
