A slab on grade? Not a great idea.
Reasons being,
Will not be high enough to keep the sheathing and siding high enough above the grade. If it sits to low water will get in under the bottom plates and the siding will rot.
Look at some of the older post, there's dozen on this and other sites where people are trying to figure out how to lift the whole building to add blocks under the bottom plates because there rotted out.
Google stem wall and concider doing it that way instead.

Every finished a pored slab before? May want to hire this part out, it's a one shot deal, Low spots, poor prep work, wrong mix, order the wrong amount of materials, not having the proper tools on hand and know how and when to use them and the whole thing is trash.

This is how we did them, the edges were 6 inches, slab 4inches and a 6 inch curb around 3 sides and a portion of the area of the overhead door.

Concrete Footings for a Detached Garage???

Simple answer is you don't! If you need a permit in your area they probably wouldn't let you do it that way anyway! You need to do a turned down edge as shown by the previous poster at the very least. It's much better to spend a little more time and money now to prevent problems later.

This basically still forms a footing but it's just monolithic with the slab.
